Touchdown: E-2D Advanced Hawkeye Aircraft Makes First Arrested Landing Aboard Supercarrier USS Ford

Navy News, Atlantic Ocean, January 16, 2020: An E-2D Advanced Hawkeye assigned to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 20 lands aboard USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) flight deck. This smooth landing marked the very first time that a Northrop Grumman E-2D Advanced Hawkeye had landed aboard the U.S. Navy's latest supercarrier, USS Ford (CVN 78). Ford is currently conducting Aircraft Compatibility Testing to further test its Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch Systems (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG).
